
Years of Modification, Part 1
My intent from the outset was to imbue the enginehouse with loads of character and a
sense of history, not to mention signs of neglect. This window was hastily boarded up a long
time ago. Meanwhile, many of the windows are in need of repair. The batten siding is
likewise in a sorry state. But with a lack of time and capital to invest, things will not be
improving anytime soon.
The batten siding is the kit's original walls, heavily weathered with a knife. The end
window is boarded up with Evergreen strip styrene given some wood grain with a razor saw.
The Grandt Line windows were not a perfect fit, but they didn't need to be.
