In the foreground is the Fresnel city area; behind it is the CNE yard. Minimum mainline radius
was a relatively broad 18 inches, while maximum mainline grade was a gentle 1%, anywhere on the layout. Like
the benchwork, subroadbed construction followed "best practice" of cookie-cutter plywood erected on
risers and cleats. But that's where I stopped following SOP; the track is laid using double-sided foam tape.
