Getting light into dark corners

The depth of the quarry heightened the need for more focused layout lighting, and the original design was revised to include spots to hit the darker recesses. Also shown here was the "fascia-less" layout edge, where scenery, instead of paneling, would follow the inside perimeter of the layout. The idea was that the walkways could be filled in with Plexiglas sheet "water" for photography purposes.
