Southern Pacific Sunset Route

This 13 x 14 foot around-the-walls HO scale layout was designed for Tom Mann, who wanted a simple layout just for running and photography. He chose the Espee Sunset Route between Lordsburg, NM and Tucson, AZ, and using Bing Maps I scoped out some of the key locales along the way. The most scenic spot is near Vail, AZ, where the Espee has two alignments, and one crosses over the other at a verdant canyon (see satellite image). Tom's layout plans have since changed radically—he now owns a 4x8 HO layout inherited from another Railwire member. Gridlines are spaced 12 inches. Feel free to use, modify or reproduce this plan.
