It's a Shay!

I caught Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Shay #15 on a picture-perfect day during my travels in the Pacific Northwest in the early 90s. Lots of nice, clear close-up views of the Shay mechanism in action as she shuffles around the yard. Uploaded 10 March 2010; 10 minutes.

Max Headroom: Conrail Increases Clearance

Conrail ballast undercutters are seen at work in Hopewell, New Jersey, lowering the (former Reading) roadbed under the North Greenwood Avenue bridge to increase clearance, circa 1994. Originally uploaded 17 February 2008, re-uploaded 18 April 2008; 7 minutes.
